- used until 1976 as light ship No.18 at Horn Rev near Gradyb and Vyl and after World War II at the outer roadstead of Esbjerg, DK.
- 1980 sold to the association Den Selvejende Institution Brocklebank, conversion into a 3-masted schooner.
- today used for social projects under sails by the school Småskolen Fremtidens Danmark.
- participation in international sailing ship regattas (Cutty Sark Races, Nordisk Sejlads).
- name "Den Store Bjørn" means "The big bear".
