  • built in 1947 in Voolahti, Porvoo Municipality, as a coastal cargo ship for the transport of wood for pulp production and various building materials, named "Astrid" after the wife of the first owner, Hugo Eklund.
  • sold in 1952 to the Söderström brothers of Sipoo, Finland.
  • purchased in 1969 by Captain Olli Tappola and other business partners, converted for the use as a sail training ship and for charter trips with passengers, cargo holds were converted into accommodations for crew members.
  • officially recognised as a Finnish maritime heritage site since 1994.
