- replica of the relief flagship of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry in the Battle of Lake Erie in the War of 1812 where Americans fought against British troops for their independence.
- the original Niagara was constructed from 1812 to 1813, was sunk for preservation on Presque Isle in 1820, raised in 1913 and incompletely restored, 2nd restoration in the 1930s, more extensive restoration was carried out in 1988 in which much of the original ship was largely replaced by new materials.
- launched in Erie, USA in 1988, the 175th anniversary of the Battle of Lake Erie.
- used as an actively operated museum ship of the Erie Maritime Museum and as a sail training vessel, sails the Great Lakes, preserving and interpreting the story of the Battle of Lake Erie, and acting as an ambassador in her capacity as the flagship of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA.
