  • 1947 built as a Dutch trawler under the name "Deo Volente 1" TX 11 for North Atlantic fishing, since 1979 rebuilt as a sailing yacht after decommissioning by Pieter and Agnes Kaptein, renamed the "Eenhorn", registered in Amsterdam.
  • charter trips in the North Sea and the English Channel from 1981 and training trips with young people.
  • sold to the American Morris Henson in 1986, renamed the "Unicorn", upgrade of the interior decoration 1986-87, installation of new electronic equipment, registered in Jersey.
  • day trips with paying passengers in the Caribbean from 1988, trips on the Amazon and charter voyages leaving from Spanish ports, since 1991 based in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Curtis and Lettie Ciszek, a couple from Bainbridge Island, Washington, USA puchased the ship.
  • 1995 collision with the chemical tanker "Chilibar" on her way to the Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race, because the cost for repairs were higher than the value of the ship she was for sale then.
  • repaired, renamed and relocated to Toronto in 1997, "True North" now participates in Tall Ships events, sailing training and charter cruises.
  • 1999 Dawn and Jonathan (Jay) Santamaria of Hunterdon County, New Jersey, USA became owners of the ship.
  • interior refitted in winter 2002/03 in Lunenburg.
  • renamed the "Unicorn" in winter 2003/04, operated by her owners Jay and Dawn Santamaria, offers sail training and charter and excecutive team-building programmes cruising the east coast, Bahamas and Caribbean from her winter port in Ft. Pierce, Florida to her home port in Halifax, Nova Scotia and throughout the Great Lakes.
  • since 2005 under US flag, registered in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, USA.
