  • a former French fishing barkentine with shortened rigging to resist storms
  • with a break in the WWII period she was used for fishing until about 1950
  • first name was "Comandant Louis Richard", renamed the "Jean Marc Aline" after she was sold in 1948, because of her low profitableness for the fishery she should be sold after the first voyage
  • bought by the Italian navy in 1951, converted to a sailtraining ship, afterwards used as a sailtraining ship under the name "Palinuro" for the Navy School "La Maddalena" starting in 1955
  • major overhaul between 1984 and 1986 in Messina
  • trips in the Mediterranean off the Italian coast
  • participation in sailing events, i.e. she sailed the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race in the Baltic Sea 2000 and was a guest of the Sail Bremerhaven 2000
