  • built by Tim Millward, the founder of the Morning Star Trust, in his sparetime, hull is made of ferro-cement in an old warehouse by Beckton gasworks on the Thames in London and took 3 years to complete, further 3 years passed when the bulkheads, deck, cockpit and engine were installed before the hull was finally moved from the warehouse and launched in September 1978, masts and rigging were fitted in Cowes, Isle of Wight.
  • Significant voyages and achievements over the years include 1981 - First sail training voyages. Entered the Tall Ships Race for the first time. 1982 - Crossed the Bay of Biscay for the first time. 1983 - Sailed to the Baltic Sea for the first time. 1986 - First full time volunteers serving aboard. 1988 - Base moved to Chatham Historic Dockyard. Sailed to Helsinki and Mariehamn, FIN. 1989 - The Morning Star Trust was set up. 1996 - Sailed to St Petersburg, RUS. 2000 - Sailed Trans-Atlantic in the "Tall Ships 2000" event. 2003 - Won 1st prise in the new Small Ships race.
  • Annually she is used as a youth and sail training vessel carrying approximately 420 people safely to sea under sail and travels an average distance of 5000 miles.
