- built 1947-48 at the former Bihoré shipyard, now Leroux in Croisic, FRA based on drawings by Henri Devin based on Norwegian rescue cutters (Colin Archer) for the French sailor Jacques-Yves Le Toumelin (1920-2009)
- circumnavigation 1949-52, long-term voyage from France to the Antilles 1954-55.
- subsequently laid up on land and handed over to the town of Le Croisic in 1987.
- restored and put back into operation in 1991, participated in the Sail in Brest, FRA.
- classified as a historical monument (monument historique) in 1993.
- motorized in 2004, since then participation in several sailing events, operated by the group Les Amis du Kurun who sail and maintain the boat.
