- built in 1907 by shipwright James Angear in Looe, Cornwall, GBR for Thomas Soady and his three sons, first registration as FY363, used in the fishery for mackerel, pilchards and herring off the coast of Cornwall for the first 30 years.
- 1936 sold and converted into a yacht at Uphams shipyard in Brixham, GBR.
- 1937 renamed the "Outward Bound", new owner from Paignton, GBR.
- renamed soon to her original name "Guiding Star", several changes of the owner in the 1940s and 1950s.
- 1960-1989 owned by Brigadier Jack Glennie and his wife Marguerite, who sailed her all around Europe.
- 1989 purchased by Barry Jobson, the boat was in bad condition and no longer seaworthy, general overhaul during the next 3 years followed by a long journey to the Caribbean in 1994/95.
- 2016 sold to Paul and Sue Eedle, sailing trips along the shores of Southwest England and Brittany, participation in many traditional boat festivals.
