- built in 1886 at the shipyard Summers & Payne in Southhampton for the Lord Philip Patmore of Burnham-on-Crouch, she is one of the last existing victorian sailing yachts.
- used to fight against smuggling on order of the British Queen.
- laid up in the mud of the River Crouch in 1920, spent the following 60 years here, last she was used as a houseboat.
- 1979 rediscovered and restored, fittet with an engine.
- today she is the property of owners from Hamburg/GER, sails in the charter business in the Baltic Sea and participates in martime events and regattas of traditionally rigged ships.
- 2002 change of the registered port to Hamburg.
- the name "Willow Wren" indicate the good maneuverability of the ship.
