  • one of the few remaining Gloucester fishery schooner, used for fishing the Grand Banks off Newfoundland and the Georges Bank outside of Cape Cod, the design made these boats to the fastest and ablest fishing vessels in the world
  • built by Arthur D. Story at Essex, Massachusetts in 1921, one of the last built engineless fishing schooners, designed by Thomas F. McManus
  • 1923 fitted with an 100 Hp Fairbanks-Morse and Co. engine
  • 1934 sold to Newfoundland owners, used as fishing and freighting vessel for the next 30 years
  • 1960 purchased by J.B. Foote & Sons to use her as a freighter on the American coast, used as an engine driven vessel with auxiliary sails
  • 1963 she came to the Mystic Seaport Museum, restoration to her original design was undertaken, Between 1974 and 1985 her engine was removed, her stern restored to the correct appearance, deck beams, deck planking and frames replaced, topsides replanked
  • designated a National Historic Landmark in 1994
