- she began her life as motor vessel "Liverpool Bay" in 1967, when she was built at the MacLean Shipbuilding yard in Nova Scotia
- used as fishing-boat on the Banks of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland for 20 years, 1987 left abandoned at a Halifax pier for 5 years
- 1992 renamed to "Mist of Avalon", towed to her new homeport in Ivy Lea, Ontario in summer 1993, conversion from a motor vessel to a sailing ship in the tradition of the late 19th century Grand Banks schooners
- summer 1997 maiden voyage under sail to Bonavista, Newfoundland
- she is available for corporate and social events, festivals and boat shows, tall-ship events and sail training
