  • launched in Poland for the Polish Sail Training Ass. under the name "Zev", sold to the STA Japan in 1991, rigged as a brigantine in Weymouth (UK).
  • the present name "Kaisei" means "planet of the ocean".
  • the delivery voyage to Japan took 16 monsth where the ship visited a lot of ports, arrival at her home port Misaki (Japan) in Jan. 1993.
  • use as a sail training ship for the youth of Japan.
  • took part in sailing events like the Cutty Sark Tallships Race 1992 and the Sail Osaka 1997.
  • 2004 sold to the a non-profit organization Ocean Voyages Institute from Sausalito, California, offer of sail training in combination with teaching the maritime arts and sciences.
  • 2009/2010 project Kaisei: explore of the plastic vortex in the Northern pacific operated by the Ocean Voyages Institute.
